Crafted Light Hold Blow Dry Cream Review – Awesome Lightweight Prestyler for Wavy Hair

Finally catching up to my video schedule with this review of the Crafted Light Hold Blow Dry Cream from TheSalonGuy and Flagship Pomade. As predicted, the product advertises a light hold and matte finish. It’s meant to be used as a prestyler in conjunction with other products in the line, or with any other of your choosing.

I’ll be honest in saying that I can be picky about prestylers. There are not many that really excite me. Oftentimes, a lot of texture or sea salt sprays are too dry. Some waxes and pastes are too stiff. Finding a product that tames my crazy head of hair can be tough. The Crafted Blow Dry Cream, however, doesn’t give me any of these issues, which is why it has become one of my favorites lately.

Let’s take a look in more detail.

First Impressions

Crafted Blow Dry Cream Review

Packaging and Presentation: Unlike the clay and the paste, the Blow Dry Cream is packaged in an 8oz, pump-action bottle. The label aesthetic matches the other two products, though, but this time with a green accent color. Of all the Crafted labels, this is probably my favorite.

Scent: The Blow Dry Cream has a slightly floral, fresh unisex scent. The Paste had more of a sporty and clean scent, the clay a dark and leathery tone. Of all 3 scents, this is also probably my favorite.

Application

Consistency: As you can guess, the pump-action top makes this product easy to dispense and work into the hands. Just pump 1-2 times, spread the product in your hands, and apply to damp hair.

Application: Easy.

Performance

Pre-Styling: I prestyle with this product by using a vented brush and blow drying my hair with medium heat until fully dried. I notice right away, the product gives volume and texture to the hair but with a smoothness and soft feeling that only a cream can provide.

Control: The light hold with the slight stickness of the cream helps provide instant volume, a true light hold, a matte finish, and enough control to hold it all together while allowing for some great texture. It feels like your hair is completely styled and ready to go, and that adding another product as a finisher is a mere formality or booster to the foundation created by the cream.

Hold: Truly light.

Finish: Matte.

Texture: Coarse-looking, but smooth to the touch.

Dryness: Never dry, super soft feeling.

Final Verdict for Crafted Light Hold Blow Dry Cream: Great

The Crafted Blow Dry Cream is one of the smoothest prestylers that I have ever used. It has a perfect light hold that is present without being overbearing, and adds a great smooth foundation for you to finish your style with another product. If you want a prestyler that bucks the trend of other, more dry alternatives, I would thoroughly recommend this one.
